This beauty is the Porterhouse Steak for 2 at LongHorn Steakhouse. It was delicious and yes, we killed it! This gorgeous 30oz steak is around $43 including 2 sides and 2 salads. It is actually a pretty good deal and seriously hit the spot.
This was my first visit and man was it packed. We arrived around 7:00 pm on a Wednesday night and we had a 15-20 minute wait. After we got situated we started with some complementary bread and butter. After studying the menu my boyfriend and I decide that the best choice would be the Porterhouse for 2. Yes! I love myself some meat, especially steak.
The side salads that came with the meal was nothing too exciting, there is a choice between a regular side salad with a few choices in dressing or the caesar salad. The caesar was the better choice to me. Once the steak arrived we threw our salads to the side and went to town on the porterhouse. Yum.
The steak was cooked perfectly just like how we like it, medium rare. We had a choice of 2 sides and so we went with mashed potatoes and baked sweet potato with brown sugar. Everything was seasoned nicely, but it's hard to mess up those sides. I would definitely come back to try their other dishes, maybe the steak again because it was spot on!
I was so busy eating that I didn't notice the service, but my boyfriend did. I had a little discussion with my boyfriend after the meal and he pointed out how we were neglected during our meal, it was a celebration between us so it was a special dinner. I did noticed that my glasses were empty many times during my meal and our server just placed our dishes on the table and ran off somewhere else. It was also noted by my boyfriend that the server would talk and spend more time on the table behind us while we have empty glasses on our tables and that he would just walk pass us. I also realized that the server just handed us the check without even suggesting any dessert, of course I would have rejected the offer because I was stuffed, but that definitely is a customer service disappointment.
Overall, I would go back for the Porterhouse again, This steakhouse knows how to cook one without ruining the flavor of the meat. They do have a sauce that is created at the table which is similar to an A1 sauce if you're into that. It is also very reasonable in price because we both came out stuffed on steak for $50 (not including tip).
