Asian Pearl Chinese Restaurant (Dine In) - Clearwater

Asian Pearl has been on the hot seat for awhile now. I've had many people ask me about my visits here and also what they should get. It's been a goal of mine to try a different dish each time I visit. Today was a little different though because I usually tend to just grab food to go.. Well since my bf was pushing for a date, so why not grab some quality Chinese food!

For the appetizer we went for the wonton soup which I was surprised that it was actually "for 2" I was going to eat it all myself, but I guess I'll share! This soup reminds me of home, the wontons are freshly made and you can tell from the different textures from the grounded meat and shrimp. It's really enjoyable and if you haven't actually had a homemade wonton you need to!

Next, we ordered the Sea Clam in X.O. sauce (on the special board) and my bf's favorite House Crispy Noodles.

I was pleasantly surprised at the Sea Clam in X.O. sauce. It's so colorful with the chives, mushrooms, carrots,  the sea clam (orange). The chives was a big portion of the dish, but it certainly helps and goes well with the tender and crunchy clam.

It was actually the first time I've had a sea clam, it's different from just regular clam. These large pieces reminds me more of crunch jelly fish, but heavier.  I wouldn't say it's anything close to a regular clam which is chewy and has the taste of the sea. I really love the texture because it was tender yet crunchy and also sucked up the flavor of the sauce pretty well. The crunch gave it a lighter feel to the dish and the chives also helped lighten up the heavy sauce.

My boyfriend absolutely loves the House Crispy Noodles from Asian Pearl. He tells me all the time it reminds me of home and always reacts excitedly whenever he gets a good bite.

I also enjoy this dish greatly and highly suggest it if you're tired of the same soft noodles. This dish brings out the addicting crunch you crave and the house sauce is perfectly seasoned. It's also really fun to eat because it's the "junk food" of noodles!

This next dish is something I'm new to. I've only had it a couple of times, but I knew after the first bite I was hooked. These Crispy Coconut Milk Balls are a MUST TRY. I highly suggest it. It's something so unique that I've never actually had or even heard before.

They certainly don't look like much, but they don't need to. They sound simple enough, but are actually pretty complex in flavor. These crispy balls are fried until they are golden brown and they have a really nice crisp and smooth coating. The pudding custard of coconut milk in the center is the big WOW factor. It's a smooth, creamy yet not overly heavy or sweet firm pudding/custard ball. It sounds weird, but trust me these things will shock you at how good they are. I would eat this every day, all day if  I could.

There is of course some hit or miss dishes on the menu, but for the most part I've always gotten something I enjoyed and loved. I highly suggest this place if you want some quality Chinese food, of course it's a bit more pricey, but it is worth it. The service is very attentive and I've always had a great time here.

If you're adventurous, try the unique items off their special board. It's all the best and freshest items!

    1. I do apologize for the confusion! It is the Special Pan Fried noodles, I'm always calling it crispy for some reason. It's my boyfriend's favorite, but I also enjoy it. It's crispy and chewy noodles covered in their house special sauce.

  3. Finally tried this restaurant down the street from my house because every time I walk by it is packed! Food at San Francisco restaurants was awesome, prices weren't insane and the staff was friendly and knowledgeable. Must try this place.
